“Thank You, Santa” Food Drive

Here is a fund raising concept that the CTSS Board is encouraging its members to pursue in an effort to expand our “Santa Cares” food drives. Credit for this concept goes to our long term Treasurer, Bob Smith.

The premise is brilliantly simple; a manner in which to ‘thank Santa’ for what he has gifted children over the holiday through a “Thank You Santa” Food Drive.

No doubt, many of our CTSS Members will be spreading Christmas Cheer this December. Our suggestion would be to ask, in appropriate locations, to return in early January for a “Thank You Santa” Food Drive. By doing so, we will be promoting the following:

  • Politeness and gratitude in children. Children will be able to thank Santa and possibly Mrs. Claus for their Christmas gifts.

  • Public Service by supporting the Food Bank or Food Pantry of your choice.

  • The Good Will Of The Public towards the sponsor of this effort and CTSS.

It is hoped that this concept will greatly expand the charitable outreach of CTSS. As you may remember, membership in CTSS is contingent upon providing at least one charitable visit per year. This would provide an opportunity for those CTSS members busy during the Holiday Season to perform a charitable visit during “Quiet Time”.

Please keep this concept in mind as you head into “The Season”. By establishing a date and time for this event, there will be sufficient time to properly promote things. Think about creating a flier that you can hand out at your event in December. Mom’s and Dad’s are always looking for things to do on weekends as a family. Most parents will appreciate the thought of their children coming to Santa and expressing their gratitude.
