Dave accepted the nomination by saying “HoHoHo”.

The officers of CTSS now consist of Bill Dexter-President, Dave Sizemore–Vice President, Bob Smith–Treasurer & Jacqui Kuzmik–Secretary. All other members of the board (Louise DesJardins, Duck Unitas, Tom Harrington & Norm Ward) are committee members.

Vice-President – Dave Sizemore

Looking forward to working with the board. I understand how non profits should & do work & am willing to share my thoughts & ideas.

Treasurer – Bob Smith

Balance in checkbook is $11,951.94 which includes membership dues, a donation from a food drive & $57.00 from the 50/50 drawing from the April meeting at Ciao Restaurant in Thomaston. The 2021 taxes are done. We got a nice thank you card from the town of Portland for our Christmas donation. A $300.00 check was issued to the Connecticut WebFactory for another year of internet hosting, & our three (3) domain names have again been reserved through GoDaddy.

Secretary – Jacqui Kuzmik

Events (Workshop Weekend) –

Norm received a pamphlet from the Doubletree Hotel in Bristol. Will meet with committee members regarding the hotel. He will schedule a meeting with hotel representative in the coming week to discuss the Workshop Weekend possibly in October.

Website – Duck Unitas

A few members were having trouble logging into website. Duck will work with any member to rectify the situation.

He will be setting up a place on the website for our newsletters.

Duck is designing a CTSS membership card for the upcoming year. He will also design a new “Do you want to be a Santa” card.

Elections & Membership – Jane OGrady (chair) & Louise DesJardins

We have two new members; Shane McCarthy from Oakville, CT & Steve Sokolow from Torrington, CT. They were introduced to members at the April 9th get together in Thomaston, Ct.

Picnic – Louise & Phil DesJardins & Jane OGrady

The annual picnic is tentatively set for mid-August. Will be discussed further in a few months.

Facebook – Louise DesJardins

Newsletter – Duck Unitas, Tom Harrington

Our 1st newsletter has gone out & has decidedly been a big success. We are encouraging our members to contribute contents for the next newsletter by writing about something they are doing either for CTSS or on their own – fundraiser, food drive, a DIY project, helpful hints, etc. This will make the newsletter more relative to our organization. Pictures of any events or projects should be included. If children’s faces are included in the pictures, permission from the parents should be given before submitting pictures for the newsletters. Dave Sizemore suggested that at a future meeting, the board should design a generic permission form for our members to use for either CTSS or their own personal events or web pages.

Jane suggested that the newsletter should be on the public side of the website. Maybe it will encourage new members.

Please email the articles to Tom Harrington at: Greatgrayowl@sbcglobal.net

New Business:

CTSS member Carol Collins (winner of the 50/50 drawing at our last meeting in Thomaston), picked the Eastside Restaurant in New Britain as the site of our next general membership get together. The date is Saturday, May 21st. from 2PM to 5 PM in their private meeting room. We will be ordering off the menu.

Next Meeting: Friday, June 17, 2022

Place of Meeting: ZOOM (Louise invites)

Time of Meeting: 7:30 PM

Adjournment: Jacqui made a motion to adjourn the meeting & Martin seconded the motion. All were in favor.
