BOD Minutes – Jun 17, 2022

CTSS BOD ZOOM Meeting Minutes – 6-17-2022

Attendees: Louise (host), Bill, Phil, Duck, Dave, Norm, Bob, Jane & Jacqui

Call to Order: 7:30 PM

Officer Reports:

Chairman –Bill Dexter

We should advertise as to how to become a Santa. It could be a basic ZOOM meeting. Bill, Norm & Bob said they would like to be involved with this project.

Treasurer – Bob Smith

Balance in checkbook is $12,041.94. There are no debits or credits.

Secretary – Jacqui Kuzmik

Motion was made by Norm & seconded by Bill to approve the minutes as written of the last meeting of 4-22-22. Motion was approved by all.

Jacqui noted that the minutes of the last meeting were not yet available on our website. Duck will work on it this weekend.

Committee Reports:

Events (Lake Compouce) –

The date will be July 16th. Norm has been trying to get in touch with Lindsey Winters to finalize plans. She has not returned any of his phone calls.

Time is getting very short to organize this event. We have not only our members to consider, but also NESS members since this is a joint effort.

Discussion ensued as to whether we should even have this event. 

Bob (Bubba) Parmenter (member sitting in on the BOD meeting) asked if he could interject a comment or two. He is on the NESS board of directors. He told us that at the NESS meeting last Wednesday, it was decided that NESS would not be going to Lake Compounce because of the disorganization within Lake Compounce & the short period of time remaining to organize this event. CTSS should have been told that NESS was backing out of this joint venture. We were not told until this comment from Bubba at this meeting.        

After hearing about NESS’s decision, four members voted to say no to having this event: Jacqui, Bill, Dave & Duck. Norm will call Lake Compounce on Monday to cancel this event for this year & to find out if they are interested in having us back next year & what are they willing to do for us.

Picnic – Louise & Phil DesJardins & Jane OGrady

Annual picnic will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 (Rain date August 14th) at John Dzen’s Tree Farm, South Windsor, CT. Event is free to CTSS members & $5.00 per person for non-members. Hours will be 12 Noon to 4 PM. It will be BYOB, personal chairs + a dish to pass—an appetizer, side dish or dessert. CTSS will provide burgers & hot dogs. There will be a 50/50 drawing later in the afternoon. Help with Set up, Admission, Parking & Clean up would be greatly appreciated.
