CTSS BOD ZOOM Meeting Minutes – 3-19-23
Attendees: Louise DesJardins (Host), Bill Dexter, Dave Sizemore, Bob Smith, Jacqui Kuzmik, Charles (Duck) Unitas, Norman Ward and Jane O’Grady.
Meeting was called to order at 7:07PM
Officer Reports:
CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDENT – BILL DEXTER
Bill talked about the Potluck Luncheon on 4-19-2023 at Grange Hall, 25 Cannon Road, Wilton, Ct. He asked about BYOB. Jacqui suggested that it should be and would be easier, like the picnic to handle it as BYOB. It will be BYOB. The time of the event will be from 11AM to ? Jacqui and Jane would bring paper goods and table cloths that CTSS has in stock. Louise will bring surge protector extension cords for crock pots and warmers if
needed. There will be a swap table with new and gently used items. Some will be donated and others may be for sale. Items for sale will have a tag with the dollar amount and contact information. Bill asked Duck Unitas do headshots and will be available all day.
VICE PRESIDENT – DAVID SIZEMORE
Dave spoke about Food Drives. He will be doing one in July at Cromwell Farmers Market and possibly a couple more. He feels that in memory of Santa Charlie’s and others as well as what our institution stands for we should all commit to doing at least one food drive during July. It is when food banks are lowest on their supplies.
Norm suggested a signup sheet for when Food Drives are being held. Dave suggested that whoever is doing a Food Drive put the information of our website to let other Santas know when and where the Food Drive is and welcome other Santas to participate.
TREASURER – BOB SMITH
Balance in Thomaston Savings Bank $13,489.80
PayPal Balance $ 238.85
Bob still has $200 in checks to be deposited. One for $100 from Bethlehem Christmas Town Festival which they give us every year. One for $50 from Mexican Shack.
Bill paid $300.00 to Ct Web Factory so we are all set for the year. He also paid $225 to the Northwest Ct Chamber of Commerce. These are annual payments.

Minutes from January 19, 2023 BOD Zoom meeting were read and motioned to accept by Norman Ward. Bill Dexter 2 nd the motion and all approved the minutes.

COMMENT:
Duck is a member of Ct Professional Photographer’s Association. Each year they have an Annual gathering. Next year they are considering opening up to Vendors who are not necessarily photographers. He thought if any of our members would like to participate, it would be a way for photographers to meet Santas that they may want to use for photo shoots and Santas to possibly get a new avenue for a different type of job. It is normally centrally located.

Louise asked Duck a question regarding Facebook eliminating members who are deceased, merging members who are on our account twice. Jacqui explained the reason for this was because there are a lot of people who are on Facebook who are not CTSS members. We thought it would be a way to increase our membership. It was suggested at that point to put a post reminding people to either renew or think of joining CTSS. Put a post either Monthly or Bi-Monthly
