CTSS Zoom BOD Meeting Minutes - 11/19/2023.
Attendees: Bill Dexter, Bob Smith, Jane O’Grady, Jacqui Kuzmik, Marty Landgrebe, Dave Sizemore, Bob Smith, Sue Altieri, Louise DesJardins, Duck Unitas, David Daniels, Jane O'Grady, Norm Ward
Call to Order: 7:02 pm
The Board was looking for feedback regarding the recent workshop at the TPC River Highlands and Bob commented that the accessibility was good, it was in the center of the State, the rooms worked out well, and the service was good. Also, with a 1-day event there were cost savings.
Louise asked for any feedback regarding having no vendors at the event.
Jane talked about the table fees and maybe having it open to the Public for the vendors.
The next date for the Workshop was discussed as either September 21st or September 28th, 2024, and David was going to check the availability at the TPC. Jacqui reported she was waiting on John Dzen for the dates for the picnic for next July or August.
At 7:17 David Sizemore had to leave the meeting.
Bill Dexter discussed having the Workshop in different parts of the State and a discussion ensued regarding spreading the workshop to other parts of the state. David Daniels, who is responsible for the newsletter, talked about a recruitment plan and the attendance at the workshop, which seemed to be very close to last years’ attendance.
Marty talked about his goals of building the membership, the workshops and reaching out and trying to make people more aware of CTSS.
David talked about the newsletter and putting in Articles (Circle of Care) and Jane suggested pictures and more of the Food Drives.
Marty talked about getting the word out regarding CTSS through Facebook and Instagram to help increase membership and bring about more community awareness.
Jacqui discussed an email she received from Marci Jones at Channel 3 and they wanted to do an interview with CTSS. Jacqui made a motion for Bill Dexter to reach out to Marci to find out the details and what she was looking for. Jane 2nd the motion and all were in favor, and none opposed.
Bob gave a treasurer's report;
Venmo account was at $2,176.40
PayPal $1,630.63
Checking account was $11,318.29
Deposit of +- $3,400.00 was made.
CTSS Donations were brought up and there was a discussion of previous years donations.
Jane made a motion to donate $500.00 to the Christmas Village and Operation ELF. It was 2nd by Sue, and all were in favor, and none opposed.
Further discussion ensued of additional options for CTSS donations and Bill Dexter made a motion to donate to the New London Area, it was 2nd by Jane, and all were in Favor, and none opposed.
Bill Dexter made a motion to approve the minutes, it was 2nd by Bob, and all were in favor, and none opposed.
It was reported that all the follow-ups from the last meeting were done.
It was mentioned that the Board of Directors needed to lay out an agenda at the January meeting and a motion was made by Sue for the next Board of Directors meeting to be held via zoom on January 28th, 2024, at 7:00 pm to set the agenda. It was 2nd by Bob, and all were in favor, and none opposed.
Bill Dexter wanted to applaud Duck for all his photographs and his artistic efforts at last weekend’s events.
A motion to adjourn was made by Jane, it was 2nd by Bill, and all were in favor, and none opposed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:33 pm.
