BoD Minutes - Jan 28, 2024
CTSS Zoom BOD Meeting Minutes 1/28/2024.
Call to Order: 7:03 pm
Attendees: Bill Dexter, Bob Smith, Jane Ogrady, Jacqui Kuzmik, Marty Landgrebe, Dave Sizemore, Bob Smith, Sue Altieri, Louise DesJardins, Duck Unitas, David Daniels, Jane Ogrady, Norm Ward
The Board approved the 11/19/2023 minutes with one change, “Jacqui was contacted through the CTSS website”. Bob motioned to approve the minutes with the changes and Jane 2nd the motion and all were in favor, and none opposed.
Marty led the meeting.
Officer Reports:
Treasurer’s Report - Bob Smith
Thomaston Savings: $12,005.94
Venmo: $2,537.51
PayPal : $1,765.78
CTSS Donations were $2,400 and $361.50 for a total of $2,761.50.
Expenses were $225.00.
Bob talked about adding J. Kendall to the Memorial Page.
Vice-president’s Report - Dave Sizemore
Dave Sizemore reported that the TPC was not available for September 21 or 28 and suggested the dates for either October 5 or 19 of 2024. Bob put a motion to allow Dave to check the dates and put a deposit on the available date. Sue 2nd the motion and all were in favor, and none opposed.
Committee Retorts:
Website:
Duck reported on working on a new website and exploring moving to a new platform which would allow more automation. The Membership fees and application could go through the website, along with an Events Scheduler. A discussion ensued about the website and processing / handling fees and adding those costs to any event or to the membership fees. It was suggested that Duck send the “New” / “under construction” website to the members to review and play with and then bring it back to the March BOD Meeting to discuss. It was reported that our current website has been paid for and is good through the end of April and costs approximately $300-$400 dollars.
The BOD decided to table the website until March and Duck will email the BOD the costs and details.
Picnic:
Jacqui reported that she didn’t have a date from John Dzen regarding the picnic at this time and the date is still “to be determined”.
Facebook:
There was no report.
Comments:
Bob discussed the Garlic Feast and wanting to go for three days and that would mean we would need more volunteers.
Margo was not available and will give a report at the next meeting.
It was brought up about the possibility of combining events with the New England Santa Society.
A discussion ensued about an Event in July at Lake Compounce or Quassy Amusement Park and some of the issues in the past at Lake Compounce. Marty is going to look into Lake Compounce and see if they will be able to meet our needs.
Marty brought up trying to get businesses to be part of the CTSS and also businesses involved to sponsor CTSS Events and Business memberships.
It was discussed that we need to decide on our next meeting and our Calendar for the upcoming year.

Sue motioned to accept the Calendar, Bob 2nd and all were in favor, and none opposed.
A motion to adjourn was made by David, it was 2nd by Jane, and all were in favor, and none opposed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 pm.
