Annual Donations from CTSS

As part of the Connecticut Society of Santas commitment to community service, the CTSS Board of Directors has determined that donations to the following worthy causes were made the past year.

A $250.00 donation was made to TEEG (Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group) which is a human services organization that provides aid and support to families living in northeast Connecticut. It serves people with behavioral, emotional and mental health problems. The organization offers a program that enables individuals and families to receive fuel deliveries or utility payments in emergency situations. TEEG works with the Salvation Army to distribute emergency resources to local residents who can pay security deposits and buy clothing and furniture. In addition, it assists seniors with budgeting issues, paperwork and transportation. The organization is located in North Grosvenordale, CT.

A $250.00 donation was made to the Town of Morris Social Services which maintains a year-round non-perishable food pantry through the First Selectman’s Office located at the Town Hall, 3 East Street, Morris, CT.

A $250.00 donation was made to the Connecticut National Guard Foundation’s “Operation Elf”. Operation ELF, established in 2001, provides support to military families enduring the hardship of separation due to deployment and helps lessen the financial stresses these families face resulting from their call to active duty.  It is designed to support military families, whose loved ones are deployed, preparing to deploy within the next six months, or recently returned from deployment.

A $250.00 donation was made to Torrington’s Christmas Village. It has been a holiday season tradition since 1947. This free holiday attraction enchants visitors young and old. The donation helps to defray the cost of toys given to each child who visits Santa.

We truly hope that these donations help defray the costs associated with these worthwhile organizations… after all, Santa Cares!
Sincerely,

CTSS Board of Directors
